A Fun Journey Through Austin, Texas: Tacos, Sightseeing, and Adventures

Austin, Texas, a city full of energy and creativity, has long been on my bucket list of places to visit. Recently, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in its culture, sampling its culinary delights, exploring its unique neighborhoods, and indulging in its thriving wine and craft beer scene. Join me on a journey through the heart of Austin as I uncover some of its hidden gems and iconic spots.

Austin Lake Travis Boat Bash

Our adventure began with a Boat Bash experience at Texas Winos. Located in Lake Travis this was a very fun adventure because we reserved the sunset time, met different people from all over Texas. You are able to swim and eat burgers/hot dogs the best thing yet? It's BYOB! If the weather doesn't allow you to get in the water, they also offer Wine tours!

Exploring South Congress Street on Scooters

Eager to explore more of Austin's eclectic vibe, we hopped on scooters and set off to explore South Congress Street. With the wind in our hair and the sun on our faces, we cruised past colorful murals, quirky boutiques, and bustling cafes. South Congress exudes a laid-back charm that is Austin, and navigating its streets on scooters added an extra element of fun and freedom to our adventure.

Comfortable Stay at Holiday Inn

After a day of exploration, we retreated to the comfort of Holiday Inn, our home away from home in Austin. Conveniently located near the city's top attractions, Holiday Inn provided the perfect blend of comfort and convenience. With spacious rooms, modern amenities, and friendly staff, it served as the ideal base for our Austin adventure.

Quacking Around Town with Austin Duck Adventures

For a unique perspective of Austin, we embarked on an adventure with Austin Duck Adventures. Boarding a colorful duck-shaped vehicle, we toured the city's historic landmarks before splashing into the waters of Lake Austin for a scenic cruise. With entertaining guides sharing fascinating tales of Austin's past and present, it was a quacking good time for all ages.

Taco Time at Taquero Mucho

No visit to Austin would be complete without indulging in its legendary tacos, and Taquero Mucho did not disappoint. Located in the heart of Downtown Austin, this vibrant taqueria serves up a mouthwatering array of tacos bursting with flavor. From traditional classics to inventive creations, each bite was a tantalizing taste of Austin's culinary.

Savoring Pizza Perfection at Home Slice

Another culinary gem we discovered on South Congress was Home Slice Pizza. With its New York-style pies and laid-back atmosphere, this neighborhood pizzeria quickly became one of our favorite spots in Austin. Whether enjoying a classic pepperoni slice or indulging in a specialty pie, every bite was a delicious reminder of why Austin is renowned for its diverse dining scene.

No visit to Austin would be complete without sampling its vibrant craft beer and spirits scene. At Meanwhile Brewing Co., we savored a refreshing selection of locally brewed beers in a relaxed beer garden setting. From hoppy IPAs to crisp lagers, each brew showcased the creativity and craftsmanship of Austin's breweries.

For those with a penchant for spirits, Fierce Whiskers Distillery offered a tasting experience like no other. Specializing in small-batch whiskies and spirits, this cozy distillery welcomed us with open arms and guided us through a tasting journey of their finest offerings. With each sip, we gained a newfound appreciation for the art of distillation and the passion behind Fierce Whiskers' creations.

Barbecue Bliss at La Barbecue

No trip to Texas would be complete without indulging in its world-famous barbecue, and La Barbecue is a must-visit for any barbecue enthusiast. Located in East Austin, this beloved barbecue joint serves up mouthwatering brisket, ribs, and sausage smoked to perfection. With its laid-back atmosphere and mouthwatering aromas wafting through the air, La Barbecue captures the essence of Texas barbecue culture.

Our journey through Austin was a whirlwind of excitement, adventure, and culinary delights.
